GENERAL POWER AND DUTIES
To act on behalf of the City of Houston in the promotion and development of commercial, industrial, and manufacturing enterprises to promote and encourage employment and the public welfare by issuing obligations and bonds to finance projects promoting and developing commercial, industrial and manufacturing enterprise.
MEETING TIME AND LOCATION
Meet as needed; time and place determined by the Board.
COMPOSITION
TOTAL: 9 directors
Positions 1 through 9: Nominated by the Mayor, confirmed by City Council.
NOTE: Nominations are based on consideration of experience in business and business financing and commitment to the intended public purposes of the program.
TERM: Two years. Odd-numbered positions expire on January 1 of odd-numbered years; even-numbered positions expire on January 1 of even-numbered years.
CHAIRPERSON: Elected by the Board.
QUORUM: A majority of the directors fixed by the Articles of Incorporation shall constitute quorum.
COMPENSATION: Directors shall serve without receiving compensation.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Entity is NOT included in the financial reporting for the City of Houston. Required to take an Ethics Course.
