LEGAL AUTHORITY FOR CREATION AND OPERATION(Federal)
Within the Municipal Courts department there is hereby created the Adjudication Hearing Officers for the Photographic Traffic Signal Enforcement Program.
Pursuant to Senate Bill 1119, which was effective September 1, 2007, and the revision to Article XIX, Chapter 45 of the Houston Code of Ordinaces, also effective September 1, 2007.

GENERAL POWER AND DUTIES
Hearing officers shall have the authority to administer oaths and issue orders compelling attendance of witnesses and production of documents. Such orders may be enforced by the Municipal Courts.
MEETING TIME AND LOCATION
The clerk of the Municipal Courts shall establish and implement appropriate procedures to affect the policy of this article. A petitioner may file a written request for an administrative adjudication hearing within 30 days of issuance of the notice of violation. On receipt of a timely request for a hearing, an adjudication hearing officer shall notify the contesting person of the date and time of the hearing. The hearing shall be held within 45 days of such request.
COMPOSITION
Municipal Court Adjudication Hearing Officers for the Photographic Traffic Signal Enforcement Program shall be composed of one or more hearing officers who shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council.
Position 1 - 2 are Full-Time.
Position 3 - 9 are Part-Time.
Term: Two years.

Entity is NOT included in the financial reporting for the City of Houston.
