LEGAL AUTHORITY FOR CREATION AND OPERATION(State)
City of Houston Resolution No 83-99. City of Houston Resolution No. 2000-50. Health Facilities Development Act, Ch. 221, V.T.C.A. Health & Safety Code.
GENERAL POWER AND DUTIES
The Corporation is organized and may issue bonds on behalf of the City of Houston for the specific public purpose of acquiring, constructing, providing, improving, financing, and refinancing health facilities to assist the maintenance of the public health.
MEETING TIME AND LOCATION
Meet as needed; the time and place as to be determined by the Board of Directors of the Corporation.
COMPOSITION
TOTAL: 9 directors
Positions 1 through 9: Appointed by the Mayor, confirmed by City Council.
QUORUM: A majority of the directors fixed by the Articles of Incorporation shall constitute a quorum.
TERM: Directors shall serve for a term of three years with odd numbered positions expiring on Jan. 1st of odd numbered years and directors in even numbered positions expiring on Jan. 1st of even numbered years.
CHAIRPERSON: The chairperson (President) shall be elected by the Board.
COMPENSATION: Directors shall serve without receiving compensation.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Entity is NOT included in the financial reporting for the City of Houston. Required to take an Ethics Course.
