LEGAL AUTHORITY FOR CREATION AND OPERATION(City)
City of Houston, Code of Ordinances, Chapter 41, Article III, Section 41-64.1.
GENERAL POWER AND DUTIES
The Tower Permit Commission hears protested tower permit applications as well as considers and grants or disapproves requests for waivers of the location requirements of the ordinance relating to cell towers and other towers subject to regulation under the ordinance.
MEETING TIME AND LOCATION
Meetings are held the Fourth Monday of the month at 3:30 p.m., in City Hall Annex Council Chambers, Public Level, 900 Bagby Street.
TOTAL: 7 members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council.
Position 1: Chairman.
Position 2 : Member of a residential civic association.
Position 3: Person with training or background as a land planner, surveyor, or other urban design discipline.
Position 4: Person with training or background as a real estate agent, appraiser, other real estate related business.
Position 5: Person with training or background in electrical engineering, physics, or any discipline related to radio frequency technology.
Position 6: Member of a residential civic association.
Position 7: Person with training or background in electrical engineering, physics, or any discipline related to radio frequency technology. All members of the Commission must be residents of the City, as required by Section 2-316 of the Code.
QUORUM: Four members.
TERM: Two years. Positions 1-7 are appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council.

COMPENSATION: Not specified.
Entity is NOT included in the financial reporting for the City of Houston.
